Our Dreamers

Please take a moment to read about our past "Dreamers". We hope that their stories bring inspiration and hope and to remind each of us that through our spirit of generosity we can make a difference in these children's lives.
At the age of 3, Atticus (Atti for short) suffered 3rd and 4th degree burns and has endured over 100 procedures with more to come as he gets older. KDCT was able to send Atti and his family to Walt Disney World in Oct 2019.  Here are some photos from their trip....
Jacob was born with Prune Belly Syndrome which left him with no abdominal muscles. He had heart surgery at 1 week old and has had several since. He also has a rare genetic mutation which attacks the smooth vascular system requiring health monitoring throughout his life. KDCT sent Jacob and his family to San Diego in Oct 2019.  Here are photos from his trip.....
Ella was born with pulmonary atresia with a septal defect and has had heart surgeries to repair a hole in her heart. She will continue to be monitored as she grows. KDCT also sent her and her family to Walt Disney World in January 2020.

Vercelee is a 5-year-old girl diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL-B cell) on 9/20/19.  Her wish was to go to the Great Wolf Lodge and Mall of America!  Vercelee and her family enjoyed the waterpark, got to meet Santa, and had a great day exploring the Crayola Experience!  As you can see below, Vercelee is all done with her Chemo!! Yippee :)

Palmer is a delightful 3 year old who was born with Dandy Walker Syndrome.  This disease causes abnormal development of the brain which affects voluntary muscle movement, posture, and balance.  Palmer's family wanted a safe place where she could continue her physical therapy at home and also enjoy time with her brother!  KDCT gifted Palmer with a sensory room that she can share with her family.

Shea was born with right Fibular Hemimelia with Absent foot. Basically, he is missing the bottom of the fibula bone and has no foot. This is only 1 of 4 cases ever seen at Mayo!  Shea's wish was to attend a dude ranch and see a rodeo! She's family was able to spend a wonderful week at a ranch riding horses and helping with chores.  One of the ranch hands even invited Shea to watch him at the local rodeo event!

Hallee Ness is 9 years old and she was diagnosed with Diabetes.  She was able to spend a fun-filled spring break with her family (sister pictured) at Disneyworld!!
